FYS 101 & TRNS 201

Qualified faculty and staff can serve as an instructor for FYS 101 or TRNS 201 for the fall and spring semesters. Instructors are invaluable to the success of each course section, and FYP is dedicated to their development.

All instructors can earn up to $2,000 for teaching a section or can have the funds sent directly to their department/college.

Instructor Application

While both courses use the same curriculum, FYS 101 is made up of first-year students. While TRNS 201 only consists of new transfer students.

It’s okay if you don’t have experience working with one of these populations, you’re still able to serve as an instructor in the course! Use this as an opportunity to engage with a group of students you might not often work with.

All instructors are equipped with a syllabus, Instructor Guide, and Canvas course. All instructors will be trained on each resource during our instructor development sessions. The Instructor Guide and Canvas course, for example, provides a step-by-step outline for each session. This includes directions to facilitate activities and PowerPoint decks to use during class.
